Living With Power & Purpose

Have you ever started out on a journey with good intentions and think that this small commitment will help you to grow while continuing to focus on your dream?   Then suddenly one morning you wake up and realize that it's the end of the first quarter and you wonder "where has time gone?"  Well dear reader, that is what has happend to me since our last newsletter.  I have missed you, I am back and hope that you are ready to travel with me on the journey towards personal and career success.

Over the last few months I have been on a magical mystery tour of my own power and purpose in life.  I have taken time out to look deep into myself and examine where personal power springs from and how to use it to find and pursue my purpose in life. 

So, where does personal power come from?  And what did I find when I did this internal soul searching? 

I found that personal power comes when you do a self examination, look deep inside yourself, to find what brings you joy and make that your purpose in life.  I has a pretty tough first quarter of 2004 and I became so frustrated and angry at the direction the tide was headed in that I tossed out a challenge to the universe. 

"I challenge you to send me 10 positive events to prove to me that the last fourteen months have not been a waste of time," I yelled out, and guess what happened?  Within one week the abundant universe sent me no less than six incredibly positive events.  It was as though I had opened a window to goodness and everything just flowed towards me effortlessly.  I had relaxed my mind, stopped grasping for success and started up the law of attraction.

The reason I share this with you is to let you know that I am once again ready to bring you insights, encouragement and powerful articles and suggestions for taking your life back and finding your own power and purpose in life.

Over the next year I will bring you many new opportunities to grow.  I will seek out and recommend products that will help you to find your personal power and purpose.  I also encourage you to contact me with your suggestions and requests.  Tell me what you need and allow me to help you find and achieve it.

I have grown personally, professionally and spiritually in this first quarter of 2004.  I have walked through the crucible and emerged purified and ready for the next stage of my personal growth and I am here to tell you that what you dream of and desire can be yours, if you are willing to do what it takes.

All it takes is for you to decide today, right now, that this year, 2004 you will take one thing that you have always been afraid to do, look it straight in the eye and conquer it.   Are you ready?  Then let's get started.

Our first woman in the news is Miss Ann Fudge who is currently featured on the March cover of Business Week magazine.  She stands out by being able to return to the corporate big leagues after a self imposed 2 year sabattical.

Ann Fudge is a former president of Kraft's Maxwell House and Post divisions where she headed the $2.7 billion business. She was responsible for the success of well-known brands such as Maxwell House, Grape Nuts, Shredded Wheat and General Foods International Coffees. Her business acumen and the ability to generate double-digit growth for products attracted the attention of headhunters, business leaders and executive boards seeking directors.  Fudge was recently recruited out of her self imposed retirement by Martin Sorrell to run Young and Rubicam Inc., the advertising and communications that he bought for $4.7 billion in 2000.   She comes to her new job fresh from a two-year break in her 24-year marketing career. Ms. Fudge left Kraft Foods in 2001 as president of its $5 billion division that includes beverages, desserts and Post cereals. She had signed on with the General Foods unit of Philip Morris as a strategic planner in 1986. It was merged into Kraft in 1989 after Philip Morris bought that company. Her sabbatical included biking around Sardinia and Corsica as well as charity endeavors. "It was a really good time to give a little of myself," Fudge says. "I had loved what I was doing for 20-plus years. But it's a good time to leave when everything is on a high." She came to General Foods after nine years in marketing at General Mills. Her corporate career also has gained her entry into the boardroom: She is a director of Honeywell, General Electric and Marriott International and will continue to serve those boards. But Fudge says she still makes time for "normal" things. She does yoga once a week and can execute the difficult "Crane" position. She is also someone, who — despite living in Westport, Conn., the second-richest city in America and home to Martha Stewart and Paul Newman — does her own laundry.
